Wilbur Wright Students Talk about Their Holiday Plans

As Thanksgiving break ended, Winter break is fast approaching. Wright students are ecstatic about their four-week winter break in December and January. Some Wright students were able to discuss their plans for their break:

Tyrese Gardley, a student here at Wilbur Wright College, answered the following questions:

What did you do over Thanksgiving break?

“I ate food and played charades with my family. It was the highlight. At many times, family should be important because it is already a sense of community and a sense of happiness. One of my obstacles was staying focused while getting my work done. It’s very hard when you are spending time with your family because you have to find a balance in family, school, and work lives. Growing…I describe it as growing. Growing and becoming a better person myself.”

What are your Winter break plans looking like?

“My plans are studying and trying to see what the next step in my life that I will do. I perceive my winter break to be excellent, extravagant, and swell.”

Bernaliz Lopez, another Wilbur Wright student, also responded to the same questions:

What did you do over Thanksgiving break?

“During Thanksgiving, I went to my family’s house, and we did karaoke. A highlight was spending time with my cousins that I had not seen in a while, and they live out of town, so meeting them was fun. An obstacle was that it was really difficult that I had to check I was on track with everything with assignments. It was very fun overall.”

What are your Winter break plans looking like?

“For Winter break, I would most likely go to my other relatives’ house. I think it will end very well. My family is very close, so I would think it would be fun.”

Christopher Papageorge, another Wilbur Wright College student, said:

What did you do over Thanksgiving break?

“I was with the family, eating dinner while having some fun with them. Seeing my brothers was a highlight of my Thanksgiving break. I am not really sure what my obstacles are for Thanksgiving break. My Thanksgiving break was fun.”

What are your Winter break plans looking like?

“Relaxing with my family, those are my winter break plans. Kicking back, relaxing, and sleeping–that is what I want my winter break to end up.”

Kelina Hernandez, another Wilbur Wright Student, said:

What did you do over Thanksgiving break?

“I would say that I spent time with family and friends. But I also introduced my two of my friends to family members that I have, and I also spent time with my grandmother. For my highlights, we played games together. It was me, my grandmother, father, mother, and two best friends. For my obstacles, I would say I was nervous because my family hadn't met any of my friends. It was harder due to the fact that not a lot of family and friends were here this year.”

What are your Winter break plans looking like?

“I am definitely playing video games and binge-watching TV shows. The winter break would be fun because I would like to work on myself physically and mentally. I am going to take the Winter break to do some goals and execute them perfectly at the end of this year.”

In a gist, Wright students are ecstatic about their winter break starting on December 14th, 2023. Many will use their break to spend time with family members, relax with friends, or study.
