Best foot forward: Wrights soccer coach talks about 2026 season
Ramon Cabrales is Wright’s brand new head coach for the Wilbur Wright Rams men’s soccer team this season, he is taking over from coach Gabriel Billings and is putting his best foot forward.
While this is a transitional season he says he’s, “ready to step in and help the soccer team stay afloat” as the new coach and train the team the best he can.
Cabrales believes in the team and their abilities to win. Cabrales said that he is. “always confident” in his players before the 9/29 game against Richard Daley College.
While that game did end in a tough loss Cabrales’ confidence in his team is unflinching and there's no doubt he will take this courage into the future.
As of now the Wilbur Wright Rams have won no games out of the entire season, with respect to the close loss to Daley College as we were only down by one.
One Game in particular against Malcom-X College on 9/22 saw Wright Losing at 2-12. In this uncertain transitional period between coaches Cabrales had enough nerve to step up, train the team, and even after heavy losses carry a positive attitude keeping the game light hearted for all the players which is what this is all really about.
Cabrales was incredibly grateful for the opportunity to become the head coach and invited anybody interested to apply to the tryouts.
As a team member you will gain athletic waivers and personal advisors and comradery with your fellow teammates.
