Students Kick Off the New School Year The Wright Way

"Everybody seems coordinated, everybody seems nice, and everyone seems well-mannered," said first year student David Montoya about Wright College.

On Thursday students started the first day of classes at Wright College, which offered a chance for new students to begin their Wright experience.

First year student Stephanie Roblez said she is excited to get involved with clubs.

"I joined like a women's engineering club basically, so I'm looking forward to like the club meetings but also meeting new people," Roblez said.

Tony Koci, a new international student from Italy, said his girlfriend motivated him to come to Wright College. "I was in New York then we met and she was going to come here and I guess I came mainly for love." Koci, a computer engineerining student, said about Wright College, " I am really enjoying all the services, especially for the engineering program they have the Excellence Program and everybody in there is so helpful, and it has been very nice, very easy transition and I am very motivated to keep going."

First year student Mia Resendiz shared her first impressions of Wright College. "It's really cool, I feel like at first it was a little difficult to navigate but after two days here it's easier to fall into the crowd of things," said Resendiz.

For returning students the new school year offered a chance to continue education while also adjusting to new ID enforcement.

In the morning President Andres Oroz and Assistant Security Director Rapunzel Williams helped security in enforcing the CCC student ID requirement as students waited in lines at A129 throughout the day to get their ID.

While David Montoya said the requirement was "redundant" because other colleges he knew of did not have the requirement, first year student Alan Mendoza said about the student ID requirement, "It's not that troubling just keep it on me and that's it."
