Former Wright College Staffer Fired After Comments at No Kings Protest

Wright College’s former adult education manager Moises Bernal Puentes drew national attention over comments made at a No Kings protest, a string of demonstrations against the Trump Administration.

In a video of the incident, Puentes said, “You gotta get a gun, we gotta turn around the guns on this fascist system, these ICE agents gotta get shot and wiped out.” Wright Times reached out to Puentes, who was employed with Wright when he made the comments, but did not receive a response.

Since his comments Puentes has been terminated from his position. Veronica Resa, a spokesperson for CCC, said in a statement, “The individual is not employed by Wilbur Wright College or any affiliated colleges. Our college system does not tolerate violence nor incitement under any circumstances.”

Wright Times reached out to Wright's President Andres Oroz and HR Director Anthony Ribaudo and both reiterated CCC’s condemnation of violence and said they do not discuss personnel matters. Referring to Puentes, The Department of Homeland Security posted on Monday on X, “During the Chicago NO KINGS rally this previous weekend, violent rioters called for the cold-blooded murder of ICE agents. This rioter, and his statements have been referred to the DOJ. There is no place in America for psychotic incitements of unlawful violence against ICE or CBP.”

Wright Times reached out to the Wright’s Safety and Security Director Gissella Limon to ask if the increased attention on Wright College poses a safety concern but Limon declined to comment and referred to the statement from the CCC District Office.

A section from the board policy handbook listed on the CCC website states employees can be immediately terminated if a person engages in “egregious conduct,” which can include but is not limited to violence or harassment of any kind.
