The white star piece is made out of plastic, has green LED lights, and red boards and other wires. The hot chocolate is brewed in a Keurig as red and green cookies remind people of Christmas. On Dec. 4 ACM, the Association for Computer Machinery, hosted an ornament making event. Not only did ACM focus on making programmable ornaments using computer parts they also served hot chocolate and cookies.
When interviewing the ACM president, Krisitan Chappell, who is a second year student majoring in computer science, he mentioned how in events hosted by ACM, usually 30 to 40 people come and how at the ornament making event 40 people came. Chappell said ACM events help the community.
“As a whole, it allows students and members of the college to come by, enjoy nice snacks and make interactions with your other peers engaging through one focused activity that we can all work on together and enjoy. Here, in this specific event, members were able to build and learn from their experience and then take what they built home,” Chapell said.
