During the month of March, we recognize and celebrate Women’s History Month as a month to celebrate and commemorate the achievements and contribution that women have made throughout history. As per tradition, SGA hosts its weekly themed Taco Tuesdays and the theme this month coincides with this celebration. Taco Tuesdays  offers students a chance to eat and meet new people along with fun and interactive activities, while listening to music.  These events are aimed at promoting a welcoming and fun environment for students. One of the activities for the March 5 event was to trace your hand on a piece of paper and write down words that best describe yourself around it.

“I really loved the event and I love the fact that they brought back the tacos this tuesday.” Mariana Sanchez said. “As a Woman I felt included and it really showed how our school treats us women very good just like the men. Jessenia Gomez said Taco Tuesday satisfies the students with food and music, as well as fun and hands-on activities. On March 12, SGA hosted the second Women’s History Month Taco Tuesday where the activity was a Kahoot focused on famous women and questions  about their accomplishments and achievements. By participating and playing this Kahoot, many students were able to walk away with something new they learned about many historical figures that isn’t often talked about nowadays.

As per usual, students who played the Kahoot game had a chance to win the Wright College merchandise like hoodies or a notebook. In closing, Taco Tuesday has been a hit with students, with students filling the Faculty Dining Area every week. Maria Cardenas said “No matter what you're into you should always come out to Taco Tuesdays and have some fun. So now you know next time there is a Taco Tuesday you can come out and have some fun with everyone.”
