Students Share Their Food Preferences

Many students get hungry in between classes and have time on their hands to get some food around campus. Many students eat differently in the time they have, but many students said they go to McDonalds because it is cheap or it's close since it's right across the street from Wright.

Zachary Jacobs, a first year business major, said “I go eat at McDonald’s because it’s close to the school and it tastes ok.”  Luis Amador, a third year computer engineering major said, “I like Mcdonalds, I like the fries there.”

Vince, a criminal justice major, said he prefers, “Tom and Jerry’s because you get free drinks if you're a student.” Jair Sastre, a first year business major said about Tom and Jerry’s, “The gyros are fire and the college deals because they have deals every single day.”

These students usually decide to walk just a short distance across the street but what if you're craving something else? What if you don't feel like leaving campus? The cafeteria is also where students eat when they have time.

Rafeal, a psychology major, said he goes to the cafeteria “because of the kale green protein drink.” Pietro Benincasa, a first year english major said,“I’ve eaten at the cafeteria once, I got the grilled ham and cheese. I've been eating granola bars. I like Jays because I like the burgers but they don’t really salt the fries.”

Maya Patel, president of SASE and a second year electrical engineer, said she prefers, “Starbucks or Subway or Chipotle, Chipotle sometimes have student deals and other than that they're just close.” Vin Moreno, a second year biomedical engineering major said he likes Jewel Osco because “it’s cheap, it’s quick.”

But not everyone likes to go out to get food. Brandon Ramirez-Ramos a second year mechanical engineering major said, “I bring my own food because I feel bloated or like greasy with the food here cuz I wanna be able to study well.”

Whether it’s meal prepped food or McDonalds or the cafeteria or a short drive to Chipotle or even just not eating at all, many students eat different things and share what they like to get in between the time they have for their next class.
