Calling All Artists: Wright Side To Host Photography Event Before Closing Submissions

With school resuming after spring break, making art can be a great way to decompress from the semester. Wright’s very own literary and visual arts magazine, The Wright Side, will close their submissions on Tuesday. The Wright Side is also hosting an event Tuesday where they will take high quality photos of your art and help you submit it to the magazine. Find them in the campus center from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

The Wright Side is student-run and student focused as their mission is to publish student and artist works in a magazine; The Wright Side accepts drawings, paintings, digital art, mixed media, photography, poetry, short stories and scripts.

The Wright Side are also known for their events like open mic night. President Andres Oroz said, “Since I've started I've been going to their shows and having their magazines. There is a good venue for that in writing and poetry.”

Oroz also said, “I think expression is really important. I'm a strong supporter of the arts, whether it’s dance, creative writing, we have a theater program running, whatever students feel comfortable with, that is something that we should continue to provide and support.”

Students can watch an exclusive video on @wrighttimesnews Instagram with Editor in Chief of the Wright Side Nathan Madden talking more about the magazine.
